Danny Geary Speedtrap Chutes

Our Story

The idea of Speedtrap originally started years ago, as a solution for our business, not as a product. It started at a large rural farm we managed, when we had a handle operated chute fail, in the middle of the account, smack dab in the middle of the week. This particular chute operated with a thin handle, and had a sweet spot with a spring, where it would open and close with the right momentum. The problem was, it just couldn’t consistently hold up to 10-12 hours a day of constant mowing that we were doing, and parts were no longer available. So my buddy did what anyone else, too busy for their own good, would, and rigged it up work for the time. I looked at the chute, in its new half-assed form, and thought dude, there is no way we are going to be able to rely on this, there has to be a better way. So I started thinking about what we really needed a chute blocker to do, and our needs were simple: block grass on demand, do it quick and easy, hold up long term, and pop on and off for when we do our bagging. We needed it to be easy to operate, so whoever came on to mow for us could understand and use it, and not have a failure, requiring our time. The Speedtrap was built to do that, and just that. It later came to me that other contractors would probably also appreciate its simplicity and conveniences, and we are happy to know that is the case! Simple, Reliable, Efficient, Affordable was born into: Speedtrap Chute.
